the Golden Jubilee Competition for the October 1973 Victory
In celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the October 1973 Victory, the caricature memory Project, affiliated with El-Sawy Foundation for Egyptian caricature heritage preservation, announces a competition in the fields of caricature drawing and portrait caricature, under the title: The Golden Jubilee of the October 1973 Victory, according to the following rules and conditions:
Competition Objective:
- Celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the October 1973 Victory.
Competition Themes:
Firstly: Caricature drawing
- Celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the October 1973 Victory.
Secondly: Portrait caricature
- One of the heroes of the October 1973 Victory, and the artist is allowed to choose more than one hero from the October 1973 Victory to be in one painting.
Competition Conditions:
- Participants can submit one work in each field.
- Works must be sent in JPEG, 300 dpi format.
- Painting size must be 50 × 35 cm and must not exceed 2 megabytes.
- Participants must send a short CV and a personal photo.
- The artist's name and country must be written on the submitted painting according to the following model:
ABDALLAH EL-SAWY-EGYPT.
Important note:
- Works must be new and have not been previously submitted in any other competitions.
- The works of participating artists can be used in posters, magazines, newspapers, and websites inside and outside Egypt without prior permission from the participating artists, for the purpose of promoting the event.
- The organizing party has the right to exclude works that do not comply with the competition conditions and are inappropriate.
Deadline for receiving works: August 15, 2023.

Competition Awards:
- The winner of the first place in both competition fields will receive an original caricature drawing of the late Egyptian and Arab caricature pioneer: Alexander Saroukhan (1898 - 1977), presented by his family, and a certificate of appreciation.
- The winner of the second place in both competition fields will receive a portrait carved out of leather, created by the world-renowned Egyptian artist: Noubi Badea, and a certificate of appreciation.
- The winner of the third place in both competition fields will receive a copy of the latest editions of the Caricature memory Project.
- Five encouragement Awards will be awarded in each competition field in the form of a certificate of appreciation.
- All participants will receive participation certificates, and an exhibition for the best works submitted to the competition will be held; the announcement of which will be made at a later date.
